1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

“Isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Oh isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful, wonderful it is to me.”

Christ is the example for everything a Christian should strive to become, especially for the love we have and show in our lives. Before we are able to have a deep love for God we must begin to try and understand the depth of his love for us. John 3:16 is a very familiar reminder of the love that Christ has shown by sending his “…only begotten Son” to die for each of us. If we took time daily to remind ourselves of just how wonderful his love for us really is, we would find our love for him increasing daily!

As a child I remember waking up each morning, walking out to the living room and seeing my mother reading her Bible and praying. This is a very precious memory for me, because as an adult I now realize that what I was seeing each morning was not, merely part of a routine, but an act of love. To have a love for God, you must spend time with Him! How many of us have heard the saying, “Love is spelt T-I-M-E” and we feel that way about our spouse, children, friends, yet our Savior gets neglected, pushed to the side, till we have a few extra moments. Increase your love for your Lord today, spend time with Him.

My husband often uses the phrase “People do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” This is a call to action, a call to service! If you love someone you will give more than lip service to your relationship. Nothing will increase your love for Christ like sharing His love with someone else. So often we get busy with life, and we forget how important it is to share the plan of Salvation. Ignite your love for your Savior today by making it a priority to share His love.

No one falls in love, you enter into a relationship, it is all on purpose! So enter in a relationship and deepen your love with the One who already loves you so very much! Spend time with Him, share His love with those around you, because His love truly is wonderful!
